Champagnes from winegrowers go on the offensive
The great tasting of Champagnes from winegrowers took place this Wednesday at Atelier 13 in Paris where 12 winegrowers presented their cuvées with food and wine pairings conceived by the starred chef Nicolas Beaumann. Several representatives of different appellations invited were able to take advantage of the event to talk to the press about the challenges of the new European negotiations on the regulation of planting rights.
Winegrowers’ nuggets
After this political aside, the diversity of the vintages presented during the tasting demonstrated
once again that there is indeed not just one champagne, but different champagnes. We had two favorites.First, the “Provocation Rosée” cuvée from Marie Tassin champagne , a bleeding rosé (a tradition from the region Aube, if there is one!). Very wine-like, with pronounced aromas of red fruits that chef Nicolas Beaumann has chosen to serve with: crayfish and chanterelle mushrooms served in a meat jus: a real champagne for the dinner table, for rich dishes, game, a prime rib… (Recommended price: 23.40 euros)
